  1. Start with a big declutter

Less is more when selling. Remove anything you don’t need or use regularly to make rooms feel larger, cleaner and more inviting.

  1. Depersonalise your home

Pack away family photos, children’s artwork and sentimental items. Buyers need to be able to picture themselves living in the home.

  1. Keep your colour palette neutral

White, cream, beige and soft neutral tones photograph beautifully and create a fresh, timeless feel. Replace bold cushions, throws and décor with softer alternatives where possible.

  1. Make the bedrooms feel inviting

Fresh, neutral bed linen, neatly made beds and a few simple cushions can instantly make a bedroom feel brighter, larger and more appealing.

  1. Clear your kitchen benchtops

Put away small appliances, paperwork and anything that creates visual clutter. A clean, clear kitchen helps showcase the space and storage.

  1. Don’t forget the bathrooms

Remove toiletries, excess products and personal items from view. Keep towels fresh and neatly folded, and add a simple touch such as greenery or a neutral candle.

  1. Let the light in

Open curtains and blinds, clean your windows and remove anything blocking natural light. Bright homes always feel more welcoming.

  1. Give the house a top-to-bottom clean

A genuinely clean home makes everything look better. Don’t just tidy — wipe down surfaces, clean windows, mop floors, dust, clean skirting boards and make sure kitchens and bathrooms are spotless. It’s amazing how much of a difference a sparkling-clean home can make.

  1. Make the outdoor areas count

Mow the lawns, tidy the gardens, remove clutter and make entertaining areas feel inviting. Outdoor space can be a major selling feature, particularly on the Sunshine Coast.

  1. Consider professional styling

You don’t necessarily need to style the entire home. A full or partial styling package can focus on key areas such as the living room, master bedroom and outdoor entertaining space to highlight the property’s best features and maximise its presentation online.
